| Cultural and traditional beliefs are important in
people's everyday lives. Included in these is religion. At our school we have students
from all over the world and from four of the world's major religions, Buddhism,
Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. We asked our parents and used our memories to write
about the traditions and beliefs that are important to us. We also added our own artwork
to help illustrate our writings. "If we learn about beliefs and customs and if we
understand about them then we won't make fun of them or fight with them. So then you could
help others understand so they wouldn't make fun. It is interesting to see people in
different costumes from different countries like when we sang at the multicultural
fair." (Grade 4 Student)
